Feed-in Tariff (FIT) scheme are available in some States and Provinces through your respective electricty suppliers. Some generation and export tariff rates are index-linked which means they will increase and decrease with inflation. Some tariff rates are are even adjusted annually equal to the Retail Price Index.
Most FIT or MicroFIT contracts range from 20-25 years.
Feed-in Tariffs (FIT) are a new Government policies that provides a financial incentive to install renewable energy systems, such as Wind Turbines.
FIT plans will help the government meet clean energy targets (electricity, heat and transport) from renewables as an overall percentage of need. FIT plans will work alongside current Tax and Grant programs which incentivizes large-scale renewable energy projects.
The Department of Energy in the USA and Provincial Governing bodies in Canada hope hope that FIT programs will encourage deployment of additional zero carbon electricity generation, particularly by organizations, businesses, communities and individuals.
